PROTECTIVE GLOVES AGAINST MECHANICAL RISKS

The protection standard EN 388 lists criteria for protective gloves against mechanical risks. For this purpose, 4 aspects of mechanical stress are defined: Abrasion resistance, cut resistance, tear resistance and puncture resistance. Gloves are tested according to these criteria and are assigned a performance level ranging from 1 (lowest) to 4 (highest) (except for cut resistance, which has a value of 5 as the highest performance level).

To indicate the performance of a protective glove against mechanical risks, a hammer symbol, the name of the standard and the 4 performance levels of the protective glove are indicated.
